Lloyd’s Wharf

Sittingbourne

Lloyds Wharf is unique within Sittingbourne, both by its location on the water’s edge, its shape and by the existing uses and community groups that currently exist on the wharf and close by. The 2 acre site will consist of a series of buildings ranging from 3-9 storey apartment blocks and townhouses which will reimagine an underused, secluded site and create a new identity.

  • The Lloyds Wharf development will consist of 4 main blocks of mixed-use development. The residential units include a mix ranging from studio flats to 3-bed townhouses. This is to ensure that the development caters for a broad spectrum of the demographic within the town of Sittingbourne.
  • The proposed site offers opportunities to develop more pedestrian and cycle links north of the train line connecting well established routes in the area.
  • The proposed building locations frame the public space on the creek-side, opening it up and creating a more private rear for residents, where there will be vehicular circulation and pocket parks. Commercial frontages will open out to the public space, building on the existing Barge Museum and Skate Park community spaces, creating a biodiverse and robust landscape.
  • The proposals include public open space along the creek frontage which should connect to the east/west and join up with the existing public right of way network.

Eutopia Homes have been working with the landowner (Essential Land) and wider professional team on the site with a planning application being submitted to Swale Borough Countil- a decision is expected in early 2023.
