Eutopia Homes is pleased to confirm that full planning consent has been granted by Medway Council for the redevelopment of the former St John Fisher School site in Chatham, Kent. The approved scheme will see the transformation of this vacant brownfield site into a high-quality residential neighbourhood, delivering 139 much-needed new homes alongside enhanced landscaping and public open space.
Located in close proximity to Chatham town Centre and key transport links, the 5.8-acre site will be redeveloped to deliver a sustainable, mixed-tenure community that supports local housing needs and long-term regeneration objectives.
A total of 139 new homes will be delivered, comprising 77 single-family houses available to rent (2, 3 and 4 bedrooms) and 62 one and two-bedroom build-to-rent apartments across two four-storey blocks. These homes are set within a landscape-led masterplan that includes 1-acre of new publicly accessible open space, biodiversity corridors and enhanced amenity areas available to both new residents and the existing surrounding community.
This application was developed following extensive pre-application discussion with officers from Medway Council, as well as comprehensive community engagement. The approved plans brings forward a vacant, urban brownfield site for much-needed homes whilst also contributing to the broader social, economic and environmental objectives.
